Ginnels

Ginnels es el proyecto en solitario del músico irlandés Mark Chester, guitarrista y bajista de la Grand Pocket Orchestra and No Monster Club.

Algunos de nosotros descubrimos a Ginnels gracias al vinilo recopilatorio publicado por el sello madrileño Tenorio Cotobade, que reúne un canciones de sus tres anteriores trabajos: Ginnels (2011), Mountbatten Class (Long Lost Records, 2011), y la doble cassette Crowns (2012) publicada por Popycal Island.

Nos lo habéis pedido y no nos hemos podido resistir. Sus canciones nos ponen una sonrisa en la boca y nos iluminan el día. Jangle pop que nos remite a grupos como Elephant 6, Neutral Milk Hotel …

Cómo el mismo Mark describe, su música es “like your favourite Byrds and Feelies records being drowned out by your neighbour’s stoned noise jams. Except actually good”.

Para su actuación en el festival, Mark se acompañará de otros cuatro músicos en el escenario de Clamores.

Ginnels is the solo project of Irish musician, Mark Chester, guitar/bassist of the Grand Pocket Orchestra and No Monster Club.

Some of us discovered Ginnels thanks to the compilation vinyl put up by the Madrid-based label Tenorio Cotobade, which collects a bunch of songs from their three past workds. Ginnels (2011), Mountbatten Class (Long Lost Recrods, 2011) and the double tape Crowns (2012) released on Popycal Island.

You’ve asked for it and we just could not say no. Their songs put a smile on our face and brighten up our day. Jangle pop that make us think of Elephant 6, Neutral Milk Hotel… In Mark’s own words: Ginnels’ music is “like your favourite Byrds and Feelies records being drowned out by your neighbour’s stoned noise jams. Except actually good”.

For their show at the festival, Mark will be accompanied by four other musicians on the Clamores stage.
